About the spectrum
Short-arc metal halide lamps have a spectrum close to sunlight, so they render white, blue and green more faithfully than ordinary halogen lamps. Because the spectrum is concentrated in the visible range, total luminous flux is higher than halogen or xenon lamps of the same wattage.
